Another successful repair completed by the team at Device Repair Guy. This time, we recently carried out both a screen replacement and a back glass replacement on an iPhone 17 that came in with significant damage.
The damage
As the photos show, the phone had a badly damaged display as well as a cracked rear panel. Damage like this is common after drops, and while it can make a phone look beyond saving, in many cases it can still be restored properly with the right parts, tools, and experience.
The Repair
For this repair, we removed the damaged screen assembly, replaced it with a new display, and also changed the broken back to bring the phone back to a much cleaner and more usable condition. Repairs like these require care and precision, especially on newer devices where everything is tightly assembled and cosmetic finish matters just as much as functionality.
A cracked screen can affect touch response, visibility, and overall usability. Broken back glass can be just as frustrating, with sharp edges, cosmetic damage, and the risk of the damage spreading further over time. Replacing both at once is often the best way to fully restore the device.
