iPhone 16 Pro charging issue repair

iPhone charging port repair is very common, we see at least two or three per day in each shop.

This particular iPhone 16 Pro was showing a “moisture detected in charging port” warning and would not charge properly. After opening and inspecting the phone, we did not find any visible moisture inside, but the charging port assembly was faulty and needed to be replaced for the phone to function correctly again.

This can happen even when the phone is not wet. The charging port can trigger moisture or liquid warnings due to contamination, corrosion, dust, lint, damaged pins, worn internal contacts, or a failing charging port flex cable. Sometimes even a tiny amount of residue or oxidation inside the port is enough to cause charging problems.

We see this issue on both iPhones and Samsung phones. iPhones are well known for showing liquid/moisture warnings through the Lightning or USB-C port, while Samsung phones also commonly show moisture warnings when the USB-C port or charging circuit detects an issue. In many cases, the problem is not active moisture — it can be damage, residue, or a faulty port.

To help prevent charging port problems:

Avoid charging your phone if the port may be wet
Keep the charging port clean and free from lint or debris
Avoid using damaged or low-quality charging cables
Do not force the cable in if it feels loose or tight
Let the phone dry fully before charging after exposure to rain, humidity, or spills
Use wireless charging temporarily if your phone shows a moisture warning

If your iPhone or Samsung is showing a moisture warning or not charging properly, bring it in and we can inspect it for you.
